The Micronutrient Forum

The Micronutrient Forum is the central platform for evidence and advocacy to improve micronutrient health. We are a group of experts bringing leaders together to help build and strengthen the evidence base on micronutrient deficiencies and interventions, build consensus, and ultimately contribute to the development of stronger policies, programs, and systems to protect the health of vulnerable communities everywhere. We understand the power of a common agenda: by convening the right people and facilitating the development of shared priorities, the Micronutrient Forum is accelerating progress towards a world without micronutrient deficiencies.

About The Programs

The Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Consortium (HMHB),hosted by the Micronutrient Forum, is the central platform for evidence, knowledge, collaboration, and advocacy in maternal nutrition. HMHB accelerates progress by fostering collective action on critical priority interventions such as multiple micronutrient supplementation (MMS) and balanced energy and protein (BEP) dietary supplementation, proven strategies to improve maternal and newborn health outcomes, particularly in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs). Comprising over 500 individuals and organizations, HMHB also hosts Technical Advisory Groups (TAGs) on MMS and BEP, bringing together experts in nutrition, maternal health, and public health to interpret evidence, identify knowledge gaps, and provide guidance to governments, NGOs, and partners.

Standing Together for Nutrition (ST4N) is a multidisciplinary group of experts in nutrition, regenerative agriculture, climate change, gender, and food and health systems. The Consortium assesses and synthesizes evidence on the impact of climate change and other crises on nutrition for millions of vulnerable women and children, and builds consensus to guide programs, policies, and investments. ST4N is grateful for the support of Global Affairs Canada and the Rockefeller Foundation.

The Micronutrient Data Innovation Alliance (DInA) is a diverse membership coalition focused on driving collective action to strengthen micronutrient data systems. Hosted by the Micronutrient Forum, DInA is dedicated to tackling global micronutrient deficiencies and helping national leaders make data-driven health and nutrition policy and program decisions—protecting vulnerable communities everywhere and accelerating progress towards a brighter, healthier, more resilient future.

Other Initiatives

Accelerating Anaemia Action
The Micronutrient Forum provides support to the Anaemia Action Alliance under the leadership of the World Health Organization (WHO) and UNICEF. This inclusive platform brings together national and global leaders, experts, and advocates from diverse sectors to accelerate and coordinate multisectoral actions on anaemia, as summarized in WHO’s Comprehensive framework for action: Accelerating anaemia reduction.

Improving Child Diets
The Micronutrient Forum works with partners to address gaps in the availability and accessibility of safe and nutritious complementary foods by convening government authorities, investors, producers, and technical experts to improve the micronutrient quality of and access to complementary foods. Children’s first foods must be safe and nutritious to ensure proper growth and development—critical for their future health, learning, and productivity.
