Welcome to the Micronutrient Forum’s 7th Global Conference (#MNF2026) in Accra, Ghana!
We are excited to announce that the Micronutrient Forum’s 7th Global Conference (#MNF2026) will take place in Accra, Ghana, from September 28 to October 1, 2026. The Conference is being held at the official invitation of the Government of Ghana, with the strong backing of the National Development Planning Commission (NDPC), the African Union (AU), and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
The event will draw 1,500 participants from across nutrition, food, agriculture, climate, development, and other humanitarian fields. Importantly, more than half of the participants will come from Africa and other low- and middle-income countries, reflecting the global need to prioritize equity and invest in local leadership.
The conference theme—“Nutrition at the Frontiers of a Changing Environment”—could not be more appropriate . As a platform for advancing nutrition evidence and policy action, our convening takes place amid major global disruptions, including climate shocks, conflicts, the aftermath of COVID-19, and geopolitical tensions, that have erased 15 years of progress in combating malnutrition. Dramatic reductions in donor funding are further threatening progress in nutrition.
In this uncertain landscape, the Forum’s global conference will provide a critical moment to regroup, strategize, and reaffirm commitments. It will be a space to strengthen collaboration after the Nutrition for Growth Summit in Paris 2025, examine evidence on how to sustain and finance nutrition programming, spotlight what is at stake for millions worldwide, and build momentum for our 2030 commitments.
The conference program will explore strategies to adapt to these new realities of climate change, funding cuts, conflicts, and displacement by focusing on harnessing new technologies and innovations, including systems biology, geospatial analysis, AI, and advanced data analytics, and developing new and more equitable models of collaboration that enable countries to scale up and support their nutrition.
Importantly, the conference will embrace and advance Africa’s nutrition agenda. While the continent is home to some of the most pressing nutrition challenges, it is also a source of bold innovation and collaboration.
Regional frameworks, including the African Union’s Comprehansive Africa Agriculture Development Program (CAADP) 2026-2035 which focuses on food systems transformation, the AU nutrition strategy and cost-effective interventions across West Africa, demonstrate the continent’s ability to lead.
By convening in Ghana, a country recognized for its success in reducing stunting and promoting sustainable diets, the conference will spotlight Africa’s leadership in nutrition and food systems transformation.
Our robust scientific program will include a mix of live, and on-demand sessions to allow both in-person and virtual delegates a chance to convene and engage directly with speakers and other attendees, as well as having access to the recorded sessions after the in-person conference ends.
We are delighted to have you join us and look forward to increasing our collective knowledge on how to sustain progress in nutrition in a rapidly changing environment and strengthening our collective advocacy and impact to improve nutrition throughout the globe!
Looking forward to welcoming you in Accra,
