How to Apply for a Ghana Visa
Ghana operates an official electronic visa and travel authorisation system managed by the Ghana Immigration Service. The application process and requirements depend on your nationality.
Participants are responsible for ensuring that they complete the appropriate immigration process before traveling.
Step 1: Check your visa requirements
Visa requirements vary by nationality and passport type. Before starting your application, confirm here whether you may enter Ghana visa‑free, need to apply through the electronic visa or travel authorisation system, or must obtain a visa prior to travel.
The most up‑to‑date information is available on official Ghana Immigration Service platforms.
Step 2: Apply through the official Ghana eVisa system
Most participants who require a visa should apply online through the official Ghana eVisa or Electronic Travel Authorisation platform.
Applications submitted through this system are processed directly by the Ghana Immigration Service and may be subject to security screening. Submission of an application does not guarantee entry into Ghana.
Step 3: Prepare the required documents
While requirements vary by nationality, applicants are commonly asked to provide a passport valid for at least six months beyond the date of entry, a completed electronic application form, a passport photograph, proof of travel and accommodation, proof of participation in MNF 2026 (Letter of Invitation), and a valid Yellow Fever vaccination certificate.
Additional documentation may be requested depending on the application type.
Step 4: Allow sufficient processing time
Visa processing times may vary significantly depending on nationality and application volume. Participants are strongly encouraged to submit their applications well in advance, ideally 3 to 6 months before the Congress.
Step 5: Entry into Ghana
All travelers are subject to immigration checks upon arrival. Granting of entry remains at the discretion of Ghanaian immigration authorities, even if a visa or travel authorisation has been issued.
Visa Disclaimer
